Akamu also known as pap has been linked with weight gain in so many places. Akamu is produced locally in Nigeria and other African countries from maize, sorghum or millet. The grains are soaked in water for about three days, after wit is grinned and sieved to remove the husks. The sieved maize is then left to ferment and dry for few days again and is ready to use.
